On Feb. 28, 1983, Styx released ‘Kilroy Was Here". Ultimate Classic Rock calls it "their most ambitious concept album yet."
But within a year, tensions in the group came to a breaking point, bringing the classic era of Styx to an end.
It was partially because Dennis De Young was really big on concept albums AND making long form videos to go along with them. The rest of the band wanted to move forward.
As Randy Meisner of the Eagles said in “The History of the Eagles” “Every rock and roll band is almost always on the verge of breaking up.”
Here's a song form the album.
