I thought Seattle had chased the last Hollywood moviemakers out of town years ago, but apparently they're back, and they're shooting a big feature film here right now. And, most importantly, you could be in it!
The movie's called One Square Mile. The stars are Kim Basinger
and Richard Jenkins
The story: A reclusive track coach forms a bond with a young man from the wrong side of the tracks whose path out of poverty is to become an outstanding runner. This Sunday, they're shooting the film's climactic track meet scene, so apparently they need lots of fans in the stands to make it look real. You don't get paid, but you do get lunch, and free parking.
There's a kind of cheesy website that lays it all out for you. Just go here, and scroll down to the "sign up here" link. They'll give you the details about where you need to be, what you need to wear, etc.
Have fun . .. and when you hit it big, and you're on that red carpet, don't forget the DJ way back home in Seattle who helped you get your start.
