John Mellencamp Honored Tonight

John Mellencamp will be the 4th musician to receive the Steinbeck Award, in a ceremony tonight in San Jose, California. The honor goes to artists and activists whose work reflect the values of John Steinbeck, including passion for the environment, common people and the struggle between rich and poor.
Seems to me like John Mellencamp is a good fit.
