This past weekend, Saturday was so nice and sunny, I got to open the windows and start thinking about the dreaded spring cleaning. I hope you did, too! Well, open the windows and enjoy. If you didn't think about cleaning, I won't blame you. However, once that inevitable Big Clean comes, Care2 has a few tips for keeping your home green and clean.
Natural air freshener: Don't buy the canned stuff. Simmer lemon peels or cinnamon and cloves to make the house smell natural and fresh. Opening the windows and running the fans will help, too. There's nothing that smells better than fresh air and sunshine.
Keep those old textiles for rags: If you go through paper towel roll after paper towel roll when you clean, take a look at your old clothes before they go into the charity pile. Some of the rattier items can be torn into rags for scrubbing and dusting. Ever notice how much dirt your socks collect when the floor is dirty? Use them to your advantage and turn old socks into dust rags. You can wash and reuse them.
Make your own cleaning solutions: From disinfectant, wood polish, drain cleaner and more, find all-natural recipes here >>
Good luck with your cleaning, whenever you get around to it!
