The Taylor Bridge wildfire -- how you can help

Thousands of acres of land are burning in Kittitas County -- it's bad.

I found a page of great links if you want to access help, or provide assistance. Click here.

I was esepcailly interested in the effort to rescue animals from the area.  A Facebook group has popped up that lets people connect and share resources for getting livestock and pets to safety. Here's the Taylor Bridge Fire Animal Recovery page.

For general help and communication, here's the Taylor Bridge Fire Help Facebook page.

And the Kittitas County chapter of the American Red Cross could obviously use your help.  They're here.

Thanks to KIRO-TV for posting this very extensive list of contacts.  They have more here.

General information

Donations

  • The Daily Record in Ellensburg reported that people can drop off donations for those affected by the fire at the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce, Holiday Inn Express and Knudson Lumber in Ellensburg.
  • Tim Williams of Fox 12 in Oregon reports that Seattle residents who want to make donations can drop them off at Al's Glass, located at 12015 Aurora Avenue North (phone: 206-367-9323).

Name: Kimberly Benton
I would love to help in any way I can. I have a truck, I can rent a trailer. My sister has a cabin in Salmon Le Sac I can stay in so don't need lodging. I could move animals. I have property in Bellingham I could bring them to temporarily. I cannot access Facebook at work so anything you send me has to be a direct link or email address please.
