When I was 13, I didn't expect to still be referencing Seinfeld well into adulthood, but here we are. Do you remember the episode about "re-gifting?" I don't think that was even a term before Dr. Tim Whatley gave Jerry a label maker originally "gifted" by Elaine. Now it's a common term... and occurance.
Turns out 40% of Americans have or will re-gift this season. If you're stressing about what to get your coworkers... don't. It turns out 20% of people have re-gifted a gift to a coworker. So grab that ugly knick-knack and pass it along. Behind that is gifts for service providers - 18% polled have re-gifted in that situation. Other common re-gifting recipients? Church friends, neighbors and teachers.
Do you have sure-fire tips to not be re-gifted? I usually do the "baked good" plate as a gift (yep, I'm contributing to America's holiday weight gain one delicious flourless chocolate cake at a time), so I think that's a good way to ensure no re-gifting. Though I may be wrong, since the fruit cake is so comically re-gifted every year. Have you ever re-gifted?
