Scholastic Journey provides impoverished children in developing countries with basic school supplies and uniforms enabling children the opportunity to attend school. The Sickle Cell Walk is a fundraiser to benefit the Metropolitan Seattle Sickle Cell Task Force (a 501c3) The MSSCTF is a non profit organization whose focus is educating the community in regards to Sickle Cell Disease and Sickle Cell Trait. The money raised will benefit our outreacheducational programs, Sickle Cell camp and our scholarship fund that helps local people with Sickle Cell attend college. For more information click here.

The 2nd annual DoggieStock will be held at Centennial Fields, in Snoqualmie. All proceeds from this event are donated to Valley Animal Partners, which provide spay and neuter services to pets of low income families. It kicks off at 11am with a DoggieWalk through Snoqualmie valley $15 entry. There will be four bands playing throughout the day, dog search and rescue demos, obedience demos and an agility team. For the adults a beer garden, food vendors, pet related booth and non profits there to educate the crowd. Pet adoption groups will be available as well as a mobile vet for questions, general care, shots and micro-chipping. The Doggie Olympics are back! Peanut butter licking and hot dog bobbing, as well as a canine costume contest. Be creative! Bring your kids, friends and family and come join us for a day of tails and music. Celebrate the dynamic Latin history and culture by sponsoring the Seattle Fiestas Patrias Festival presented by Sea Mar Community Health Centers and the Seattle Center Foundation. From the Latin beats of mariachi to the vibrant colors of traditional dresses, this annual event is a feast for the senses. The two-day, family-friendly event is attended by over 20,000 guests and is packed with live Latin music, delicious food, a traditional cultural fashion show, health fair, and activities for the kids. This years festival, planned for Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19 at Seattle Center and in Seattle's South Park neighborhood, marks the bicentennial independence of several Latin American countries. Sea Mar Community Health Centers, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is the largest community health center network in western Washington. Since 1978, Sea Mar has been committed to providing high-quality, comprehensive health and human services to diverse communities. It has been collaborating with Seattle Center Fest series since 2007 and has been hosting Fiestas Patrias since 1995. Join Climate Ride California to Support Climate and Energy Solutions -- September 21-25, 2010The nation's largest environmental charity bike ride and climate conference on wheels comes to California! Climate Ride California, this September 21-25, 2010, is a fully supported tour along the spectacular Northern California Coast from Eureka to San Francisco. The tour is 5 days, 320 miles and includes stunning rides through the Redwoods and Wine Country. This fundraising ride is the first multi-day bike tour to support non-profits working on environmental and bicycle advocacy issues. Registration includes your own personal fundraising web page, training/logistical support and access to a nationwide network of Climate Riders. The ride includes a cycling jersey, campsites, luggage transfer, road support (all hybrid, electric or veggie-powered!), meals, bike mechanics, bike guides and a nightly expert speaker series. Registration is $75 and each rider fundraises $2400 to participate. The ride is open to 200 cyclists. Proceeds support Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, Green America and 1Sky.
