Brian Muchinsky

Brian Muchinsky has taken the long route from his educational background in radio to a career in it.  Brian graduated from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications with a degree in TV, Radio and Film Writing back in 19** (redacted for national security purposes).  He also spent his college years performing improv and stand-up comedy.  But instead of following his dream of entertaining people, Brian wussed out and went to law school.  A law degree from the UW ensued, and then five years in private practice.  Although Brian kept performing comedy on the side, it wasn’t enough to fulfill his original dream.  A chance email exchange with Marty Riemer (about The Flight of the Conchords) led to a lunch meeting, which led to Brian contributing jokes to Marty’s afternoon show.  That led to a Staff Writing position after Marty moved to Mornings. Brian’s most prominent on-air duty is conducting the interviews for “Blatant Stereotyping,” which he likes to think is aided (ever so slightly) by his past career cross-examining people.  Brian firmly believes that he is the luckiest person at the Mountain and relishes this second chance at happiness.  He strongly encourages everyone reading to follow their dreams, even if they involve a pay cut.

When not at the Mountain, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and improv troupe, Comedy Court Improv.  To learn more about Comedy Court, visit www.myspace.com/comedycourtimprov or email Brian at bmuchinsky@1037themountain.com.
